By introducing the first infant formula to approximate breastmilk most closely, Humana set a milestone in 1950 for modern infant nutrition – over the past few decades many other milestones have followed.
1950 | Over years spent on research, the Herford paediatrician Dr Heinz Lemke was the first to develop an infant formula that approximated breastmilk most closely. In 1950 “Humana” milk was introduced on the market. While bottled milk for babies already existed at the start of the 20th century, this had little in common with the breastmilk that is so important for babies. |
