PREPARATION

Humana Electrolyte should not be dissolved in a higher concentration than recommended. Dissolve the contents of one sachet (6.25 g powder) in 250 ml freshly boiled water or heated Humana Baby Water or in 250 ml tea (e.g. camomile or fennel tea) and drink warm or cold in small amounts.

Amount for drinking and quantities

Quantity and length of treatment in accordance with medical directions, otherwise Humana recommends the following procedure in the first six to twelve hours:

• toddlers and school children: 50–150 ml/kg body weight approx. 2–8 200 ml bottles or cups
• adults: 20–40 ml/kg body weight

If the child is seriously ill the solution should be administered at short intervals and in small quantities if its condition is critical and in case of vomiting for example. Make sure the child is getting enough liquids (unsweetened fennel, camomile or rosehip tea) – please do not give the child any drinks containing carbohydrates. Humana HN Special Formula has been proven to help build up nourishment – with children who are prone to allergies please use diluted HA formula.

Humana Electrolyte is a dietary food for special medical purposes (balanced diet) with sweetener, suitable for treating diarrhoea in children and adults as part of medical treatment.
Is used to offset loss of minerals and fluids quickly in case of diarrhoea (oral rehydration therapy).
