Generally if infants bring up small amounts of milk after a meal it is no cause for concern. However if you’re unsure whether your child is still getting enough nutrients, please contact your doctor. Possible causes for increased posseting in infants may for example be a weak lower oesophageal sphincter (between the oesophagus and the stomach) or coordination problems in swallowing. Humana AR is a specially creamy infant formula, which counteracts frequent posseting by your baby and at the same time provides all the vital nutrients and sufficient energy.
Humana AR contains the natural bulking agent locust bean gum. This makes the formula particularly creamy so that reflux from the oesophagus and hence posseting can be reduced. This has been proven clinically. Locust bean gum does not supply any extra calories and does not affect the absorption of essential nutrients. It is a purely vegetable substance and makes the formula particularly creamy. Humana AR is well tolerated and does not contain gluten. The special fatty substance from vegetable fats is particularly easily digestible and rich in polyunsaturated fats.
When is Humana AR not suitable?
Humana AR must not be given when there is proven cow’s milk sensitivity (allergy to cow’s milk protein, lactose intolerance, galactosemia).
Useful tips to help with frequent posseting
Make sure you don’t feed your baby the foam that forms when you shake the formula.
Also help your baby to burp now and again during the meals.
