PREPARATION & USE
Heat to the correct temperature for drinking.
A 5–10% glucose solution or a 15–25% maltodextrin solution can be given 2–3 hours after birth. After around 6-12 hours feeding with Humana 0 can be started. During the transition a mix of glucose or maltodextrin and Humana 0 can be fed.
Please keep unopened formula away from light and in a cool place (below 25 °C). Shake well before use, take out required quantity immediately and heat to the correct drinking temperature! Do not use or heat up leftovers.

Energy ratio: Average shares of physiological calorific value:
protein 11 %; fat 48 %; carbohydrates 42 %
Important Notice
Humana 0 is a special formula designed for the special needs of premature babies. The protein demonstrates a high biological value with the ratio of whey protein to casein being 60:40. The fat constituent contains LC-PUFA, which ensures the intake of long-chain, polyunsaturated fatty acids. 42% of energy is provided by easily digested carbohydrates like lactose and maltodextrin. The high energy density is sufficient to satisfy the needs of babies with birth defects. Osmolarity is in the physioosmolar range. All minerals, trace elements and vitamins are contained in sufficient quantities to cover the requirements with a daily intake of 416–650 kcal. The high concentration of calcium and phosphorus and the Ca/P ratio of 2.0 allow sufficient supply where there is an increased need for Ca.
Indications:
- special formula for infants, premature babies and babies with birth defects, for special nutrition where there is an increased need for protein and calcium, impaired absorption of nutrients, coeliac disease/sprue and sucrose and fructose intolerance as part of a dietary plan
- contains easily available carbohydrates
- in case of glucose intolerance only use while monitoring the metabolism constantly
Contraindications:
- cow’s milk sensitivity (allergy to cow’s milk protein, lactose intolerance, galactosemia)
- glucose-galactose malabsorption
Only use with diabetes mellitus upon instructions from the doctor.
Important notice for mothers:
in the special case of underweight infants (premature babies) the natural advantage of breastfeeding must be supplemented with further nutrition or, on the advice of a doctor, be substituted entirely, if breastfeeding is not possible.
